It’s New Orleans: Happy Hour

Hosted ByGrant Morris & Andrew Duhon

HAPPY HOUR is a cocktail-fueled 60 minutes of random conversation with folks who have nothing in common, other than being New Orleanians in a bar. Featuring extraordinary New Orleans musicians playing live, host Grant Morris and sidekick deluxe Andrew Duhon.

Spark About You – Happy Hour – It’s New Orleans

andrew duhon

Nobody could accuse Andrew Duhon of being over sentimental. Andrew frequently unveils new songs he’s writing on Happy Hour and they more often than not fall into categories of various shades of “dark.” So when Andrew announces he’s working on a love song, “and it goes likes this…”   there’s a certain amount of fascination about what’s going on in his life that’s brought about this shift.

andrew duhon, spark about you

It’s a beautiful song about burning away your veneer and letting the heat burnish the new, real, you within.

Ashley McClaran

Ashley McClaran wonders if Andrew wrote the song for her. Ashley’s the female equivalent of Andrew, steadfastly determined not to settle down into conventional marriage. Ashley is perfectly happy with her 4 year old son, Eli, and her life, but as of this week – since Sunday night actually – she’s going to have to get used to saying, “This is my husband.” The very words seems to catch in her throat as she says them but this is about as romantic a tale as a true romance can be.

alan wiltshire

Alan Wiltshire is the very definition of a swashbuckling sailor, with tattoos from every port he’s pulled into for long enough to get to know the local bars. Leaving the ocean going life behind Alan has traded the camaraderie of the sea for the bonhomie of the service industry. As the Beverage and Food Manager of the all new Euro-hip AC Hotel on Carondelet Street Alan likes nothing better than to mix drinks and listen to stories. And for his own contribution to the sum of human love Alan knows it’s all about respect and 6-month braces.
